Chamber pieces have amplification, tape manipulation and jazz influences,
while rock bands are incorporating strings and showing obvious influences from Erik Satie and John Adams; this whole "post rock" thing
which we will eventually realize is about form and language, not instrumentation....oops.
Let's be honest, the standard view of classical music is that it is all about Vivaldi and Sousa,
with rock, it is that of formulaic MTV boy bands.
and modern music, well, that unfortunately, but empathetically so, drove itself into isolation for a while
This concert is not just about a particular music, scene, crowd;
it is about new acoustic sounds, new acoustic music
the idea of modernity as tradition
and human ears
